Do I need Plesk?

DateDec 10, 2023

Silly title sorry for a question. Background is I have been using a windows VPS since 2015 and I don’t have any kind of control panel front end. I use Remote Desktop to access the server.

I have done the following on it:

  • Set up IIS
  • Installed new SSL cert each year
  • Installed MySQL
  • Installed SqlYog
  • Installed FileZilla File Server
  • Installed MailEnable
  • Set up Scheduled Tasks to run routine scripts
  • Manually backed up database

I need to move to a newer windows server version as current is version 2012 R2.

The company I use charges £15 per month for Plesk for Windows. I wondered if I would get any benefit from it or would it not really provide much benefit given I am fairly comfortable doing basic tasks myself?

Was just curious if it’d make admin tasks more straight forward?

I understand it uses system resources so am not sure if I should just leave it and stuck with what I know?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks
